Mufti Mohammad Farhan, on behalf of Muslims on Long Island, Inc. (Masjid Al-Baqi) presented the following speech at the Interfaith Community Event "United Against Hate" at Mid-Island Y JCC on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017. "We, the members of Muslim community in Long Island, are deeply saddened by the sudden rise in anti-Semitic scares and harassment in recent weeks; especially the recent threats directed at Jewish institutions on Long Island and across the State.

These acts of violence are disgusting and completely unacceptable, to say the least. This sort of hatred, violence and bigotry has no place in our world and we condemn it in the strongest possible words.

As Muslims and people of faith we must remember that God has directed us to defend all people equally against bigotry, hate, violence and abuse.

At this hour of need, our communities must come together and we stand in strong support of our Jewish brothers and sisters who have been affected by these recent crimes.  Thank You."
